Chara Info: Azmaria is an Apostle whose beautiful voice has the power to heal. After being saved, she helps Rosette and Chrno battle demons.
Why Her?: Because I haven't made enough Chrno Crusade Costumes. Duh :P.
The Story: Would you believe I started this costume in November of 2004? It wasn't completed until September 2005 O_o.
Everything is made out of cotton sateen. I've always wanted to use it (such a pretty, soft fabric!) so I was happy to make a costume that would look appropriate in it. The lining and slip fabric is broadcloth.
I used a pattern for the top, but everything else (including the collar!) was drafted by myself. Strangely enough, the collar was the easiest part of the costume. I just slapped some stiff interfacing on my dressform, cut it out in the right shape, and used it as a pattern.
You can't really see it in the pictures well, but the collar and sleeve cuffs are trimmed in eyelet lace. This is not completely accurate to the source material, but I thought it would look better, seeing as this is a very EGL-ish design.
Jess looks cute in this, although not quite as cute as the regular Azmaria. Unfortunately, I still haven't mastered the art of sizing properly for people 300 miles away ^^;;.
