*BT*
.hack//SIGN
Event Worn At: Katsucon 9, Anime Expo 2003
Chara Info: One of the key players in the extremely strange, extremely confusing, yet extremely interesting anime .hack//SIGN. BT is not one of the most powerful characters, but she is crafty, wise, and at time indispensible with her magical powers.
Why Her?: I would have probably never watched .hack//SIGN had I not stumbled across a wallpaper featuring BT. She looks WAY too much like me to pass up. Plus, when I started watching the anime, I discovered she was by far my favorite character ^_^.
The Story: I've been sewing for quite a long time now, and it showed when I started making this costume. I have never had any costume go this easily before ^_^.
Everything was made without a pattern. The base green turtleneck and skirt are made out of flannel, which is a GREAT fabric if you're going for the stiff anime clothes look ^_^. The apron and the green part of the belt are made out of cotton. The boots are stretchy covers pulled over my official cosplay boots (this is the fourth time they've been used! ^^). I must say that shoe covers are incredibly easy if you use stretchy fabric ^^. Both the gold armguards and tiara are made out of crepe satin. For the tiara, I covered some Flexi-Foam in the satin. It glues onto my head with spirit gum, which is rather annoying >.>. The jewel on the front of the shirt is made of Model Magic, and the tiara jewel and earrings are made out of Sculpy.
I had a lot of fun wearing this at Katsucon, although I wasn't at the con in it for very long >.>. Other than the tiara and earrings, this is a very comfortable costume. However, it will look MUCH better once I have BT's staff completed ^_^. I decided to not make it for Katsucon because they're very strict when it comes to props. And unfortunately I broke the damned staff intended for AX while in the sanding phase.
