*Chii (Garden Gown)*
Chobits
Making for: Money!
Chara Info: I don't think this is one I have to explain >.>.
Why Her?: Heh heh heh. . .Back in early 2003 I bought 10 yards of ivory Casa satin to make a very elaborate Chii dress. I got halfway done before I decided it looked horrible on me, so I stowed the fabric away. I used about half of it for Suu later that year, but the other half has been taking up space in my sewing cabinet ever since. I found this picture and decided to use the last of the fabric for this dress, and then sell it because I am poor XD.
The Story: This dress was very easy to make :).
I used a pattern for an early 19th-century gown for this, and it didn't even need to be modified! It's lined in cotton (which I like better than traditional linings -- it doesn't make you sweat as much ^_-) and interfaced with some very stiff loose-weave fabric I found for cheap at Wal-Mart. Because painting the dress would have taken forever (therefore pushing up the price) I decided to use a printed chiffon instead. I think this modification turned out wonderfully! The baby pink and ivory look so lovely together *_*.
I still haven't sold this dress >.<. It's lovely, well-made, and needs a good home! Please contact me if you're interested -- I'll send you sizing and pricing information ^^.
