*Lady Oscar (Non-Military)*
Rose of Versailles

Worn at: A photoshoot at the Venetian.

Chara Info: Oscar was raised by her father as a man. In pre-Revolutionary France, Oscar serves as head of the Palace Guard and is a close friend of Queen Marie Antoinette.

Why Her?: We've already established that I love this series and character. However, I didn't like my first Oscar costume at all! A few months after I made military Oscar, I decided to make the outfit I originally wanted -- her casual outfit from Arras.

The Story: I wish I would have made this Oscar outfit first :/. It looks so much better on me than the other one!

I used a men's Colonial America pattern for everything on this outfit. Yes, one pattern for an entire outfit is a first! I had to do a lot of modifications, since it wasn't exactly made to fit a girl. I used cotton and cotton/poly blends on the outfit (yeah, not period accurate at all :P). I embroidered the designs on the jacket with the embroidery machine at work, and it reminded me why I hate metallic thread. Ugh, the thread snapped SO MUCH!

My favorite part of this outfit is the poet blouse. It's so poofy and cute *_*. I trimmed the sleeves in very pretty Venetian lace. The only problem is that the sleeves are so big they make the sleeves of the jacket look lumpy.
