*Pepper*
Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar

Chara Info: Pepper is the super-cute, super-polite friend of Sugar, the Snow Fairy. She is a Wind Fairy, and controls her element through a harp/lyre. She enjoys waffles and talking to animals XD.
Why Her?: Okay, I haven't seen a lot of Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar. . .but OH MY GOSH, is it adorable! A bunch of friends and I are planning a Sugar group/skit for Ani-magic. I was originally going to do Ginger, but I opted for Pepper because she's cuter, she has an easy outfit, and I don't need a wig ^^. Plus, I get to wear my eyeglasses! That's so great XD.
The Story: This one was pretty simple ^_^.
The wings are transparent green vinyl sewn around a wire frame. They velcro to the back of my dress. They're soooo adorable -- they even flap when I walk! XD
The entire outfit is made out of crepe, which is a lovely fabric if you're going for that airy, light look that Pepper's dress has. I didn't use a pattern. The skirt and bottom parts of the sleeves are each two big arcs sewn together. The top of the sleeves are just gathered.
The only real problem I had with this costume was the issue of hemming. Crepe likes to pucker when you try to hem it. I absolutely hated what it looked like, so I made some double-faced tape to bind the sleeves and skirt. It's not accurate, but in doing this I actually improved the look of the costume. Besides hiding the puckering, the thick binding also serves to poof out the skirt a bit, so it has just as much flounce as the anime does ^_^. Yeah, I'm quite proud of my little experiment XD.
I seriously need more super-cute costumes. I had SOOOO much fun wearing this! At Ani-Magic, I was with a Sugar and a Cinnamon -- and a WAFFO! (BTW, the waffle is made from foamcore, hot glue, and brown acrylic paint, in case you're wondering ^.-) Our costumes were well-received, but I think the waffle was the hit of the convention XD. We had people chasing us trying to steal it! We also participated in the masquerade, which was very fun (even if it was put together last minute ^^;;).
