Worn at: Pacific Media Expo 2005

Chara Info: High-spirited and quick to anger, Rosette is a gun-toting nun hellbent on destroying demons and finding her brother Joshua.

Why Her?: Rosette is one of those characters I love to death. When I adore a character, I have this need to make the costume as perfect as possible.

The Story: If you've been watching this site the past year, you know I've been reworking parts of this costume over and over. Some of those reworks can be seen on the page for my first Rosette costume. I'll relist them here just for the sake of being complete.

The first two things I remade were the collar and veil. I made them both out of trigger poplin, and this time I interfaced the collar. I was very happy with the way both turned out, although I wish I could make a veil that's more true to life.

For Anizona I purchased a new wig and made a new seal. I forget where I found the wig, but it was from eBay. The seal is made out of styrofoam and Paperclay, and has a real clock inside it! Unfortunately, the darned thing stopped ticking. I'm a dead Rosette ;_;.

I also made a gun before Anizona, but to this date I have not been able to bring it to a convention. I keep being told it's too realistic, which is a compliment but it still sucks >.<. I bought a vintage toy Colt 45 and built onto it with wood and Sculpey. It's all handpainted too :).

I left the costume at home for AX05, but when I heard Daisuke Moriyama would be at PMX 05, I knew I had to finish my revamps. I didn't quite finish, but it looked very nice all the same. I made a new dress -- the top is made the same, but I constructed the skirt a bit differently so it doesn't show off my butt XD. I remade most of the gold parts, including the buttons on the shoes. I made the packs I was missing, although they have to be remade. They're too big to fit around my waist! Last but not least, I made ruffly panties to wear under the dress. Even though my costume is based off the anime version, I thought the bloomers (only seen in the manga) would be a nice touch for meeting Moriyama ^^.

Unfortunately, there are still things I don't like. The biggest thing is that I don't like the way this costume looks on me. I'm not fat, but the style of this costume is just not flattering on my figure. I also still have to add the green shoulderpads. Lastly, I have to fix the puffed sleeves, because despite interfacing them to death, they looked kinda sad at PMX. I just don't know when I'll work on this again. Like my Sera Myu costume, I've worked on this so much I'm sick of it. And since I like Black Rosette so much more, I may just decide to retire this version of Rosette :/.
